Product development process: phases, quality gates and evidence in one plan
From concept through samples and pilot series to production release, many departments and suppliers work in parallel. CaRD Plan maps your product development process as a reusable template – every product passes the same gates, and every gate is evidenced.
Request a demoPhases as blocks, gates as predecessors
The phases of your process become groups, the quality gates become predecessors: the next phase is released only when all prerequisites are done. Who is responsible and how long a step should take is recorded directly on the step.
- Concept, design, validation, samples, pilot series, production release – or your own phases
- Quality gates as steps with a clear approval by the responsible person
- Tasks for engineering, purchasing, quality, production and suppliers in the same plan
- Access grants per project or plan – also for external partners, read or write
Every product runs through the same proven process
The template is agreed once and then used for every new product, variant and product line. Findings from one project flow back into the template – the process improves with every product instead of being reinvented in every project.
Transparency for project leads and management
The management overview shows progress, delay and critical steps for every development project. The consistency check reports where owners, times or descriptions are missing – before a gate fails because of it.
Evidence as a by-product
Every report-back is recorded with person and time, test reports and minutes are attached to the step. At the end the management summary, closing report and project archive are stored with the project – ready for audits, customers or lessons learned.

Frequently asked questions
Can APQP or a stage-gate process be mapped?
The structure, yes: phases, gates and the related evidence steps are created as a template. CaRD Plan does not replace a standard's requirements, but it delivers the documented sequence with which you demonstrate compliance.
How do I handle variants and product lines?
Create one template per product line and copy projects including catalogue and plans. Sub plans connect sub-projects – for example electronics, mechanics and software – with the overall plan.
Can suppliers take part?
Yes. Access grants apply per project or plan, read or write. A supplier sees only what concerns them and reports their steps back themselves – from a phone as well.
